Frequently Asked Questions
Which Pokémon movies came out on VHS?
The early English-language theatrical films were all released on tape, including Pokémon: The First Movie, Pokémon The Movie 2000 and Pokémon 3: The Movie from Warner Home Video with Kids' WB branding, and Pokémon 4Ever from Miramax. Episode compilations from the original anime were released by Pioneer and Viz Video. Availability varies by what we have in stock.
Are Pokémon VHS tapes worth money?
Most Pokémon tapes are affordable and collected for nostalgia rather than high value. Sealed copies, promotional releases and larger runs of the episode tapes can carry a premium, but the majority are an inexpensive, fun pickup. At Keystone Crypt, we pride ourselves in offering affordable pricing, great condition, and fast shipping.
What's the difference between the movie tapes and the episode tapes?
The movie tapes are the feature-length theatrical films, usually in oversized clamshell cases. The episode tapes collect several episodes of the original TV anime, following Ash, Pikachu, Misty, Brock and Team Rocket. Both are popular with collectors.
Do these tapes still play?
If the cassette is intact and stored properly, yes. You'll need a working VCR. Kids' tapes were often heavily watched, so condition can vary; however, at Keystone Crypt we check ours before listing. You can rest assured that tapes ordered from Keystone Crypt are guaranteed to work through our 60 day return policy.
Do you check the tapes before shipping?
Every Pokémon VHS we list is inspected by hand, and described honestly. We guarantee them for 60 days through our industry leading 60-day return policy. Reach out any time with questions about a specific title.
