Description
The Great Outdoors is a 1988 comedy starring Dan Aykroyd and John Candy. When an unannounced, uninvited and unwelcome family of fun-loving misfits converge upon a lakeside resort to join their relatives for a summer of relaxation, the result is anything but restful. It's a vacationer's worst nightmare as wheeler-dealer Aykroyd, his wife and eerie twin daughters join easy-going Candy and his family for a season of fun in the sun. Written by John Hughes and directed by Howard Deutch, the film pits brother-in-law against brother-in-law in an uproarious fight to the finish. This is the MCA Home Video release, VHS Hi-Fi Stereo, color, running approximately 1 hour 31 minutes, rated PG.
