The Chinese Americans is a WLIW21 (New York PBS) documentary examining generations of Chinese families who came to the United States from the mainland, Taiwan, and Hong Kong and forged an American dynasty. The program explores the traditions, customs, and institutions such as Chinese schools, family associations, and religious organizations, and features interviews with prominent figures including architect I.M. Pei, broadcast journalist Connie Chung, AIDS researcher and 1996 TIME Man of the Year Dr. David Ho, and playwright David Henry Hwang.
