Frequently Asked Questions
What made Starlog magazine special?
Starlog (1976–2009) was the publication of record for serious science fiction film and television fans. Unlike mainstream entertainment press, Starlog treated genre fans as intelligent adults who wanted production detail, cast interviews, and genuine behind-the-scenes access. At its peak it was the only magazine covering the sci-fi genre with the depth and credibility the subject deserved — and there was nothing else like it.
What years and issues do you carry?
Our Starlog inventory spans multiple decades, with particular depth in the late 1970s through the 1990s — the years when Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, and the boom of genre cinema gave the magazine its most compelling material. Specific issue numbers are listed in each product description.
Are vintage Starlog issues rare?
Early issues (pre-1980) and issues covering major franchise milestones — first Star Wars coverage, early Star Trek film content, landmark genre releases — are increasingly hard to find in fine condition. Even later issues are becoming scarce as attrition takes its toll on paper-based publications from this era.
What condition are your issues in?
Every issue is individually graded and described. We note any wear, creasing, or other markings so you know exactly what you're receiving.
