Frequently Asked Questions

What is Draculina magazine?

Draculina was a cult horror fan magazine published through the 1990s that celebrated the scream queens, B-movie heroines, and cult cinema actresses of horror and exploitation film. It combined sexy pin-up photography, sharp and unfiltered movie reviews, and genre journalism with an irreverence that set it apart from both mainstream horror publications and more sanitized fan magazines. It went where other publications wouldn't.

What made it different from other horror magazines?

Where Fangoria focused primarily on mainstream horror production and SFX, Draculina went deeper into the exploitation underground — celebrating low-budget, transgressive, and cult cinema that got little coverage anywhere else. Its pin-up content was candid and unashamed, its reviews had genuine critical teeth, and its editorial voice treated the genre's B-movie underground with the seriousness it deserved.

Are vintage Draculina issues rare?

Very. As a specialty fan publication distributed primarily through mail order and genre conventions, Draculina never had large print runs. Finding issues in good or better condition is genuinely difficult, and the magazine's cult status among horror collectors has only grown in the years since publication ended.
